How to match your roofline to your windows and doors (or not!)

When replacing our customer’s fascias, soffits and gutters, we are often asked whether it is possible for us to match them to their windows and doors. Choosing colours is a personal decision, however, there are general tried and tested colour combinations and considerations which we have listed in this quick and informative guide.

White is the most versatile colour for your roofline, it does not clash with other colours and can help showcase the colour of your windows and doors and make them stand out.

If you want something different from white roofline for your home, it is useful to learn which colours work well together and which ones do not. To help with this, we have taken a look at the popular roofline colours we have available along with the popular window and door colours in use:

As it is so dark, Anthracite works with many colours, especially Light Greys, whites and matching Anthracite Black because it is a bit too similar
Rosewood Rosewood or White Black and Grey
Light Grey Light Grey is a neutral shade so works with most light colours, such as White, Grey or Taupe It does not work so well with Rosewood or Black rooflines
Light Oak Chartwell Green, Antique White/Cream, Light Grey, Light Wood Effect Light Oak doesn’t work well with Rosewood or Black windows and doors

Are your windows and doors contemporary or classic?

Considering what style your windows and doors are can help to inform you of your roofline choices and match them as you see fit. Examples of contemporary roofline and cladding ideas include seamless aluminium gutters, square uPVC gutters and Coastline cladding. However, more traditional-looking options include uPVC cast-iron effect gutters and uPVC shiplap cladding.
