Fascia & Soffit Replacement

Do you require replacement fascia from Basingstoke to Guildford? Fascias are the horizontal boards that run along the lower edge of the roof. Fascia boards provide the fixing point for the gutter and support the bottom row of tiles. They also help protect the timber rafter ends from the weather. Soffits are fixed underneath them, covering the eaves to shield your home from the weather.

Crackled, peeling paint, soft patches in wood, water in the roof void, and animals or rodents within your roofline system are all early signs your fascias and soffits need replacing. Our replacement fascia and soffits are available in a variety of styles and colours, all of which are built from ultra-reliable uPVC.

Guttering Replacement

Guttering performs the vital function of accumulating water from the roof and redirecting it into downpipes, which takes it to a drain, away from the house. Guttering is installed along the fascia boards and prevents water from accumulating in the wrong areas. If you find you are having damp, structural problems, it maybe time to replace your gutters! When selecting us to replace your guttering, you can choose from our durable, low maintenance uPVC gutters or sleek, anti-corrosive aluminium guttering.

Bargeboard Replacement

Bargeboards are the diagonal boards which are fitted to the gable-end of a property. They are installed to conceal and protect the otherwise exposed roof timbers. We replace bargeboards and bargeboard soffits with high-quality uPVC variants and we also offer a variety of decorative options, should you wish to make a feature of your gable end. Over Fascia Ventilation

Roof ventilation is essential for preventing the build-up of moisture and is provided by ventilated soffits or over fascias ventilation. Over fascia, ventilation involves fixing a ventilator to the top of a fascia board. These ventilators are completely concealed and maintenance-free.

Eaves Protection System Installation

Looking for an Eaves Protection System in Farnborough, Guildford, Basingstoke or beyond? An Eaves Protection System is a solid PVC sheet that is fixed to the rafters under the tiles and on top of the fascias. This prevents the roofing felt from sagging and any water pooling which can lead to rot within the roof timbers. Eaves Protection System installations are dependent on the type of roof tile in use so they are not always possible to fit. However, our experienced surveyors can advise you on this.

Bird Prevention System

To prevent birds from nesting in your roof space, we can fit a bird prevention system whilst replacing your fascias. This is a flexible length of plastic that features comb-like prongs, to prevent birds from entering the roof space and causing any damage.

When Should You Replace Fascias and Soffits?

A number of signs are a good indication that you should consider replacing your fascias and soffits. This includes cracks and broken sections, peeling paint, and whether or not you’ve noticed any pests in your roof space. If you’ve detected any of these issues, we recommend performing additional investigation to determine the extent of the damage and whether replacements or repairs are necessary. We can perform both.

What Finishes Are Available on Roofline Products?

uPVC fascias and soffits are available in a variety of colours and in both smooth and grained finishes. uPVC gutters and downpipes come in a selection of colours too, including cast iron effect, which is textured. Our sectional aluminium gutters are available in matt, gloss, satin and leatherette finishes, and an array of colours. We also offer aluminium seamless gutters for a smooth, sleek finish.

What Issues Are Caused by Blocked Gutters/downpipes?

Clogged gutters or downpipes can potentially cause rot to wooden fascias and damage to mortar and brickwork. Blockages may also cause water ingress through your property’s brickwork, which could eventually create damp issues if left untreated.

What Is the Best Method for Ventilating a Roof?

To comply with building regulations, all newly built properties must have continuous ventilation at eaves level to avoid damp and condensation within the roof void. However, this is not essential on properties that predate the building regulations or were originally constructed without ventilation. We recommend that adequate ventilation is provided on all refurbishment projects regardless of the age of the property. Our experienced surveyor will discuss your ventilation requirements at the appointment and advise whether ‘Ventilated Soffit’ or ‘Over Fascia Ventilation’ will best suit your home.
